Okay, so you took the time to go to the Farmer’s Market or to the health food store 15 miles from your home, so that you could find wholesome organic eggs. Now, you want to cook those eggs to perfection. Both because you like good food and let’s face it organic food does cost more! You’re looking forward to healthy organic breakfasts with your husband and children. But you’re worried about your egg cooking skills and the time that it will take you to make them. Don’t worry you have several options available.
Electric Egg Poachers The first and most convenient is an electric egg cooker or electric egg poacher. Using this method just take your eggs, crack them open and put them in one of the little containers in the egg poacher. Then you follow the instructions about how much water to put in the egg poacher. The amount of water determines whether you have soft or hard poached eggs. Turn on the egg poacher. In a few short minutes an alarm will sound letting you know that your eggs are cooked. There is absolutely no need to babysit them. You can top them on whole grain toast and easily have a great breakfast. So you can see why electric egg poachers are the easiest way to cook eggs.
Egg Poacher Skillets If you like to be more involved with your cooking, then you can get a skillet that has an insert for poached eggs. Depending on the size of the pan, there will be from 4 to 6 indentations in which to place an egg. You place this insert over boiling water and cover. While you don’t have to stand over this skillet with a stopwatch, you do have to remember that you have eggs cooking. When the eggs are poached to your satisfaction, just slide them out of the egg indentations and onto your toast or hash.
Microwavable Egg Poachers These are plastic trays that look like the inserts in the skillets above. But of course they are made from microwave friendly materials. You also have to know your microwave oven to poach eggs in in. It may take a few tries to figure how how the individual egg poacher works with the power-range of your microwave oven.
